Until 2019, Maleny Uniting hosted a Christmas Tree Festival. During the week before Christmas, the church and hall become a Christmas wonderland with Christmas trees following a set theme. The trees were provided by groups within the church plus community groups who are very keen to be involved. Entry was free but donations received were given to a community organisation. Organisations have included Maleny Neighbourhood Centre, Maleny Hospital Auxiliary, and the Blackall Range Care Group. The festival had wide appeal for young and old alike.
